Masahiro Mori was born in 1927 in Saga Prefecture, where the region is famous as the birthplace of Japanese porcelain. His award-winning ceramic designs radically transformed post-war Japanese tabletops and helped change the global perception that 'Made in Japan' meant cheap to 'Made in Japan' means good quality and design. He has designed more than 800 items in various styles, both Western and Japanese, many of which are still used and loved worldwide.
